The first shako is done!
Nineteen shakos to go.
Each will be decorated differently, all with magpie rules (bright, shiny things that are not bought with money).
I'm not giving up making God's eyes.
I definitely want to keep decorating the fence––especially as DT is sending 2,000 federal troops to my city (CNN report).
That's part of my 'Stay, and be beautiful' new year's intention.
HOLD STEADY.
. . . But I'm tired of the yarn colors I have!
When new yarn gets donated at work, I'll be inspired to go into production mode I'm sure. Luckily, yarn comes in pretty frequently.
Marz is having breakfast with a friend, then we're heading out to the art museum. Then she wants to make a linoleum print of the upcoming new lunar animal, The Fire Horse, if we have time.
Fire Horse looks like her rising sign, Sagittarius:
a centaur, and a fire sign.
Oh--she's just pulled up---all for now...
Light your fire, folks!

Wow! that's a very impressive shako!
ReplyDeleteThank you-/they are eager to see your tiara for the Bridgeton Viewing!
DeleteThis is certainly stand alone art! Fiddly little stars and piping and the bill!! Attached from the inside I assume. You have nimble fingers!
ReplyDeleteThanks! So fun!
DeleteYes, the bill is glued on the inside--
I cut slits in the cardboard so it could spread open on the curve.
I actually have thick old fingers--but I used tweezers!
You know how these creations are--they look smoother than they are.
My great great grandfather wore a shako....part of the first postmens' uniform, based on that of the Riflemen ( see Sharpe series of books)
