Jimmy Carter was the first presidential candidate I voted for—when he was creamed by Reagan.
I’ve been saving books at the store to display when Carter died – – the day to do that is today.
What I choose as the best symbol of that changeover is Reagan taking the solar panels down off the White House that Jimmy Carter had put up in 1979.
What if Americans had continued in the the direction Carter was aiming– – towards sustainable and responsible use of energy?
The way the hostages were released on the first day of Reagan's office.....
ReplyDeleteJimmy Carter was just a real and good person. No side.
Lovely tribute, one of the best I've seen today.

thank you for the tribute! i remember Carter and all of the environmental stuff he proposed: put a sweater on, increasing the temperature of water in drinking fountains (that one was annoying --it could have been raised but not that much), heating and cooling temperatures in buildings. rather sad that people just insisted on going back.

ps the irony is that the flags will be at half-mast for the inauguration.
More Jimmy Carter humans needed, please....
ReplyDeleteThanks all, for commenting. As K mentions, Put a sweater on!
