“We found a moth.”

          We found a moth.

           It is gone.

First try at a woodblock print! (A little tricky.) I hope I can carve a 4-panel story of a forest funeral for a moth—like they really did in Duluth last year, where they found a dead white-lined sphinx moth. "It sparkles."

  1. so many thoughts when i look at this: how the moth was emphasized and sparkle (?) less so. interesting also how the grain of the woodblock was picket up when printing. i love it!!

    1. Thanks, Kirsten! I am so pleased with how the wood shows – – it really fits the story because it said enough forest! Since I don’t know what I’m doing I can’t claim any insight – – what I’m really enjoying the process!

    1. Thanks, GZ—I think of you often and your Lino cut prints – – I have the framed oak with crow as you know – – I would love to see anything you do with wood too.nHave you done it before?
I thought it was a little more challenging than lino, because it’s variable – – but I do like it.

Looking forward to class tomorrow night where I will get some more instructions on it – – I jumped ahead and started carving on my own.
