"Choose"

I met a woman yesterday--a friend of a friend--who writes a letter to Trump every week and mails it through the US post office. She said she gives him advice—“not exactly friendly, but polite, and coming from a place of love”.

And she often recommends something for him to read.
(Yes, she knows.)
Just before New Year, she'd written out this poem for him.

The single clenched fist lifted and ready,
Or the open asking hand held out and waiting.
Choose:
For we meet by one or the other.

I'd just written in my Year in Review, We get to choose.

She deserves an award, I thought, some return for the good energy she is sending out.
I ordered this block of four Carl Sandburg stamps from 1978 ($1.65 on Ebay) to mail to her.

  1. I wonder if anyone reads her letters

    1. She said somebody has to read the letters for security reasons – – maybe some intern scans them?
She also sends copies to various senators —and friends.

Probably the biggest effect is on her own self in her circle,
      I would guess.

I said I would love a list her reading suggestions
