I really needed a reminder and the thrift magic sent me one this morning – – I pulled these tiny, old, pipe-cleaner Christmas creatures out of the trash at work. They were all bent and twisted, but savable. (My coworkers are criminal —the “church lady” ones, I mean.)
yes! a wonderful find. sometimes i wonder if the older persons see these and think no one would want them or perhaps they remind them of bad memories of christmas and don't understand why someone would want them when they could have newer ornaments. so glad you were able to rescue them!!!

I agree that age is a factor in how we see garbage/treasure. The older ladies who grew up on farms during hard years like nice, new things.
DeleteCreativity is another factor--
people who see things as TRANSFORMABLE don't get locked into seeing "value".
