Penny Cooper is wearing her new dress (below).
"But only till Monday morning:
I have to wear my plaid dress to school."
Like every spring, they will be graduating 2nd grade this year,
and then in the fall, they will start 3rd grade...
...only to graduate from 2nd again in the coming spring.
They live in a Moibus strip of time when it comes to school, and every year they travel this school loop.
Penny Cooper was given a little rabbit toy by the friend-of-a-friend where I was sewing yesterday.
Note the tiny, oblong cigarette ashtray ^ behind her.

Ah--I found it--it would've been one of four mini-ashtrays that stacked in a porcelain holder.
Nesting ashtrays!
I
may start bringing home more ashtrays--they intrigue me because as
society changed its view of cigarettes, so ashtrays fell from favor.

I keep saying, I'm not going for purity. I'm just noodling my little karmic choo-choo on down the line.
At this time, I am going to stay on Blogger. Though I'm not happy with Google, I don't see any other blogging site I love. My best option would be to start my own freestanding blog, and pay for a domain name – – I’m just not up for that at this time, while I’m switching over my email and other stuff.
Here's a 2014 TED Talk about it from Andy Yen, physicist, founder, and CEO of Proton, and a long-time advocate for privacy rights.
"Without this [control of our own data], we really can't live in a free society."

Proton itself says it's politically neutral, but weirdly, this year Yen said Trump is better for small businesses than the Democrats.

But also Andy Yen said...
. . . Europe should "step up" and "be aggressive" to counter U.S. Big Tech firms' tight grip on many important technologies, such as web browsing, cloud computing, smartphones — and now artificial intelligence.

Lordy, lordy, we are in pickle.
Do what you think is best, eh?
Right now, that's making Sunday banana pancakes for bink.
Have a good day, evening, whatever, everyone!
That is a very fine frock! And a just the right sized rabbit! You have inspired me- since I have the sewing machine out making all sorts of errors, I may as well dress the orphans in fine stitches. Good idea to have unemployed ash trays of character around and about. They make fine serving platters for Petits fours or mouse sized nibblettes.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, yes, do what your conscience dictates and if ordering the one thing that you can ONLY get on
Amazon and it is essential to your well being well then...get dirty, take a shower, get over it and do better tomorrow.
LOVE the frock! Second grade is the best ...always and forever.
I ordered mentholatum from amazon, forced against my will....
DeleteWhat has the world come to when you can’t get Mentholatum in the grocery store aisle – – I think of it as a staple, like baby powder – – though in truth I have bought neither in 40 years…
DeleteBut yes, the drive for purity is a death drive – – live it up, make exceptions for things you can’t do without, or damn well don’t *want* to do without!
I imagythe orphans at your place will greatly appreciate new garments for spring and summer!
penny has a darling new dress! rabbit their size is so darling. I'll admit I, too, will pick up ashtrays particularly unusually designed ones.
ReplyDeletek
We’ve had some cool ashtrays come through the store – – looking back I really wish I had gotten this one art glass —it was orange swirl glass, and it weighed about 10 pounds!
DeleteI remember when the standard project in 3-D art class (clay) was ashtrays. Weird that they were so ubiquitous, and now, I can't remember the last time I've seen one.
ReplyDeleteI love Penny and her dress!
