ABOVE: nodding salt and pepper shakers, made in Japan. Their heads rest--and rock--on the neck wedges. A tube extending down from the head holds s + p, which shakes out through the nostrils (!).

Not quirky... BELOW: Pottery tea pots and canister;

crafts gone bad (owls but not the squirrel) and cows spouting salt and pepper: fun times in the thrift world! the teapots are exquisite! love the pottery canister.
ReplyDeleteyou found the book cover!!! when i look at the cover, it almost looks like the one arm was added later.
kirsten
sorry - not cows but pigs but rather well-dressed!
Deletek
Yes—this is the delight of my work!
DeleteI honestly wasn’t sure if they’re cows or pigs…
Holdup. The pig/cow S+P shakers are conjoined? Quirky indeed.
ReplyDeleteI'd like me one of those ceramic teapots, though!
Isn’t that whacky? Their heads operate separately.
DeleteThe teapots were beautiful and sold right away
The handmade teapots may have a stamp or signature on the bottom...that could possibly be identified
ReplyDeleteYes, they did! But I didn’t take the time to look them up – – I just price them $10 each which is high for our store – – and they all sold within the day
DeleteGood, sounds like they will be appreciated
DeleteI only saw one of them being bought – – and the woman was really pleased with it, I imagine the other ones were too!
Deletei do wish my local thrifts would get stuff of this quality (the tea pots and china).
ReplyDeletepricing at $10 was good especially after finding all the stuff the other guy was squirreling away!!
kirsten
In truth, we don’t really get that much of it – – I highlighted – – and I actually think some of my coworkers have been throwing some of the kooky stuff out – – they certainly would’ve thrown out those owl pinecones
DeleteHAHAHA the piggies blowing pepper or salt out of their snoots - hilarious. That is some cool shite right there! Glad you saved the book jacket -so worthy! You do have some rather nice stuff passing through there, glad that you are there to suss. Especially the BEARS!!!
ReplyDeleteAll BEARS MUST BE SAVED!!!
DeleteThe pottery is wonderful.
