Maybe I should read this collection of sci-fi stories, Thinking Machines (1958). I'd saved it for its cover, which has detached, but it looks like some interesting stuff. People have been wondering and worrying about artificial intelligence (AI) for a long time.
Well, this must be my day for comments! Actually I'm avoiding reading the edits for a book that I wrote on supply chain management.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks very interesting! Almost like the old Popular Mechanics my grandfather had in one of his closets. These are the types of books I like to find not the 200th copy of fill-in the name of a popular author!
But trivia about Isaac Asimov's name here: I found out recently that he wrote 506 stories, books, novels, chapters, etc in his life. As someone noted, that was essentially one a month. Imagine that much writing!

Even if they were minor, I could hardly stand doing rewrites.
Yes---the cover does look like old Popular Mechanics, doesn't it? I love that mid-century pulp art.
One book or story a month! I am WAY BEHIND!!!
But now, I am going to take a walk---get the muscles and the blood moving after three days of mostly sitting around (p.t. stretches don't count--very mild movements).

Most tv has no real heart either, with a few exceptions.
