Omicron Booster & Fall Book Display

I got the bivalent Covid vaccine yesterday afternoon--my third booster. It's by Moderna--to protect against the Omicron variants, which are the main ones people in the US are getting.
(Yale Medicine overview)

bink had made appointments for both of us, and she drove us out to a suburban Walgreens.
I'm glad I got it--good timing, two weeks before bink's wedding, and also before doors close and keep us inside.
I was feverish and sore all night, and this morning I also feel as if my head were soggy and heavy.
I am not going to work.

SEVERAL HOURS LATER....

A two-hour nap in my own bed in my own apartment, and I’m feeling a lot better, 23 hours after the Covid booster.

I’d set up a new display at work yesterday, for the change of seasons. Turned out to have a pie theme. It’s pretty warm still (high 70s today)—kinda hot for baking—but it does feel like fall. Every day is shorter… Equinox is in five days.

I want to add some novels too. Fall is reading weather!

I need to reset my attitude toward cat sitting, however, since I’m there two more weeks. The owners are hovering. They email me every day from their vacation, especially about wildcat Robinson—is he eating? Is he coming inside? Am I doing x, y, z?

Remember when you went on vacation and except for a postcard, you were gone?
Gone!

Yes, I reassure them, he’s great, I’m doing all the things you’ve asked.  Enjoy your trip.

They keep writing though, so I’d better adjust my attitude. I’m going to send a brief response each time—a quick kitty snap—and then forget about it
Fair enough they want news—I needn’t feel so annoyed.

I sure preferred the last cat-sitting gig, when the owner who was leaving for four months said, “Contact me if you have any questions… or just make it up.”
