Right deficiencies, endure reality, nourish fantasy...

From a job posting for a Writer-Editor (Communications Specialist)-- responsibilities include...

"Rewriting deficient documents written by others, by correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, terminology, usage, organization, format, style, tone, and readability of documents."
LOL
Anyone care to rewrite that?
Maybe just, "Rewrite documents to make them more readable"?
. . . Also known as "editing"?

This Is Happening

But this is what I mostly thought, this morning:
CAN WE REWRITE THIS DEFICIENT HISTORY???

OMG, what can I say? Americans storming the US Capitol...
I am sputtering, speechless.
Feeling I needed to say something, yesterday I simply wrote on FB, "This is happening."

I. Outer Space Starts at Our Feet

I went for a long walk with Marz after work, in a bit of a daze.
We walked out onto the lake.
(Michael had asked how deep it is. It's only 30 feet--this affects how quickly it freezes/changes temperatures. Also a bit shallow for sinking snitches...)

Snow has covered the surface of the lake, except for clear circles of ice---if you didn't know, you might think, aliens?

They are ice-fishing holes that have frozen over with clear ice, trapping air bubbles:

We walked for a long time––along the creek to the river, then zig-zagging back home on some streets I'd never walked on. (Only lived in this neighborhood for a year and a half.)

Mostly residential,
but--amazingly--we came across a new (since August) Japanese restaurant in an old storefront, selling take-out.
We got 5 onikiri--rice balls with different stuffings, in a seaweed wrapper.
My favorite was tuna and mayo.

It was very, extremely cheering to discover something new, and good, and fun.
Which encourages me to keep doing that sort of thing myself.

II. "To Make Reality Endurable..."

Michael recently sent me this line from Proust, saying it made him think "of the girlettes and all homemade storytelling":

“If we are to make reality endurable, we must all nourish a fantasy or two.”
Reality is calling for extra endurance in TrumpTimes.

Today on the Toy Photographers group, I posted this (old) photo:
"Exit, pursued by a bear."
Weird things happening on the world stage.

I got such a great response from a member of the Toy Photographers group, to my comment
"
I've found most doll photographers are about fashion/clothes, while most toy photographers use action figures/LEGOs, not doll-dolls. So I haven't really found a place in the world, but this group looks broad and friendly so I thought I'd give it a go."

He replied:

"No place is a good place. Good not to get pigenholed. Also [fellow member] would say...  'They are all dolls.'"

They are all dolls.

A perfect sentence.
