Geranium Season

Our growing season up north here (300 miles south of Canada) has changed––used to be you couldn't safely plant until Memorial Day at the end of May, but now it's early May.

Red geraniums make me happy.
Due to squirrels, I never plant anything edible on my porch. During dry spells, squirrels will dig in the geranium pots--but they don't eat the plants. Not sure what they're after. Cool, wet soil, I guess?

This is Bounce (once Lulu LaFlame), one of the orphans from Las Vegas, excited to be "in nature", she says.
