Another in my series of "Curious" Donations to the Thrift Store.
This is a tattered, old valise, leftover from a long-ago estate sale, I'd guess. The faded tag reads,
The outside is some sort of woven plant material, over cardboard. Cloth strips make a replacement handle.
A coworker was going to throw it out. My coworkers save pristine things like leftover Xmas ornaments, even if they have proven to be unsellable, and tend to throw out anything old and worn. I can't blame them in this case since this literally SAYS it has no value.
I grabbed it for my Cool Old Stuff shelves...
It's beat up, but it's beautiful. Dirty, but not mildewed.
A similarly battered, old, leather doctor's bag sold for $9.99, but I'll price this just a couple bucks.
