I've been worried that the upcoming Star Trek XI would be a travesty, but reports from the preview in London are reassuringly good. Here's yesterday's word--no synopsis, no spoilers--from Andrew Collins's blog Never Knowingly Underwhelmed: "I'm a doctor, not a physicist".
Sounds like a direct hit. Even if Chris Pines's body language (above, hands on hips) continues to read way too macho for the pudding-eating Kirk I love.
Collins is writing a full review for the London Times due this Saturday--I'll watch for that and post it if it's good--it'll include an interview with Simon Pegg, so surely it will be.
Not a review of the movie, but Mark Simpson offers his analysis: "Star Trek Boldy Goes into the Obama Era".
